Date: Saturday April 7, 2018
Time: 10am - 1pm
$40 Paper & Handouts Included
The Foundational Hand is based on 10th century English Carolingian. Developed by Edward Johnston, it is the primary training hand used today to gain an understanding of the structure of all minuscule alphabets. Foundational in an extremely legible hand; in fact, most of our familiar typefaces have the same source.
Calligraphy is the fine art of decorative letter writing. It is an art that anyone can learn. Come and explore this beautiful skill under the guidance of our instructor Margaret Van Diest.
Learn how to hold and use the pens, measure for the proper letter size and take the mystery out of this creative skill.
The instructor will provide supplies to use during this hands-on workshop, and handouts to take home.
This is a fun, no-stress class. Beginners and experienced calligraphers are welcome.
Sampler Classes are designed for anyone wanting to try out different mediums before investing in workshops and supplies.
We begin with a brief demo and discussion of various techniques. Participants will experiment and create their own masterpiece. If you want to try something new or have never painted before, or even if you already have a favorite medium, sampler classes are a great way to expand your artistic horizons.
