Shauna Krush is passionate about art and has made creating a focus of her life since a very young age. While still in high school she taught children's art classes at the YMCA in Saskatoon and worked as a camp counsellor every summer. This experience inspired her to combine her love of art, nature and teaching into a career. Shauna graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Arts degree (major in studio art), and a Bachelor of Education degree. Currently, she teaches Art at James Fowler Senior High School in Calgary. Shauna's painting medium of choice is oil, however, her work reflects abilities in a variety of methods and mediums including graphite, charcoal, acrylic, watercolour, mixed media and photography. Her subjects range from portraits of people, pets, horses and zoo animals to landscapes and non-representational abstract works. Shauna draws inspiration from many aspects of her life including her love of animals, the outdoors, and her students. Her work is often shown in various shows around Calgary.
