Drawing for Painters Workshop
October 22, 23, 24, 2010 (6-8 on Friday and 10-3 on the weekend)
Most problems in a painting occur in the beginning and persist until it’s too late to fix them. Start with a quality sketch and see how easily the rest falls into place.

This 8 week workshop is not a how-to draw class, but a lesson on sorting out ideas on paper before painting. Through formal composition, correct perspective, placement of your objects and ground planes, Doug will show you how to design your painting right from the start. You will learn how to make quick and accurate thumbnail sketches, from the structure of buildings to clouds in perspective.
