Hello! I'm Rebecca, an artist since childhood and Swinton's Art Studio student since 2006. My love for art started early, with a memorable childhood photo covered in paint. My passion has only grown, and I aim to capture the extraordinary in the ordinary. I want viewers to see my paintings as expressions of everyday beauty, fostering appreciation for the marvels around us. My style is contemporary still life, blending realism with drama and whimsy. I work mainly with oil paints, using fluffy watercolor mop brushes for seamless blending and a light, airy effect. Occasionally, I use acrylics for special projects or on-site events.

Rebecca's artistic journey began in elementary school and continued to flourish in high school, marked by notable achievements such as competing and placing in the Calgary Stampede Grade 12 Western Scholarship competition. Inspired by her experiences, she returns annually to support the competition. Although she has an undergraduate degree in business from Mount Royal University, she maintained her connection to the art world with a minor in art history.

Her minor in art history was a catalyst for two amazing and educational trips in 2023. First, 3 weeks in Europe, allowing her to finally set her eyes on The Statue of David, The Last Supper and many other pieces that surrounded her during her art education. Before the end of 2023, she decided to embark on another journey, this time a long weekend in New York, giddy seeing more pieces of art that influenced her art education. Her artistic repertoire is characterized by a mastery of oil as her primary medium, complemented by versatile skills in acrylic paint and drawing.
