Colour Theory For Artists - February 2026
You’ll explore how your paints behave and interact as you learn to mix colour with greater accuracy and intention. Through guided exercises, you’ll create clear, useful colour charts that deepen your understanding of value, temperature, and saturation—tools you can return to again and again in your studio practice.
Masterful Portraits - Drawing Course
This portrait drawing class, taught by Ashley Gaboury, introduces students to the Andrew Loomis method, a clear and practical system for drawing the human head with confidence. Using simple shapes and proportions, students will learn how to construct the head from multiple angles before moving into features, expression, and rendering.
Capturing the Landscape: Fast, Fresh & Fearless - March 2026
Most of us enjoy the natural landscape, and sometimes stand in awe of its beauty. Some of us have tried to paint a landscape with some or little success. I’d like to teach you what I’ve learned to help you make a landscape painting you can be proud of. This class is based on the process of painting outdoors, in which it is essential to develop a strong composition, designate the appropriate values, and make the colour sparkle with the life of the scene before your eyes.
Evening Grosbeak - Acrylic Workshop
This workshop is designed to introduce students to all the basics of acrylic painting. You will learn about different techniques in photo transfer to a painting support, colour mixing, lighting, values and more. With all this knowledge, you will create your own masterpiece of an Evening Grosbeak.

To achieve our goal, our primary focus will be to pay close attention to such major concepts as light and beautiful paint quality, while exploring a simplified approach to painting the portrait.

Soapstone April 2026
A fun and light approach to working with soapstone stone. You will carve your own piece of stone while Vance guides you through the process of shaping, carving and polishing, helping solve the challenges you encounter at each phase. Each student will come away from this workshop with a finished piece and with a better sense of how to see and execute in 3D. No skills are required other than to be willing to have fun!
