Calligraphy Writing | Neuland alphabet
The Neuland alphabet was created as a typeface by Rudolf Koch. It is a modern hand (script) and can be scribed with a felt marker or brush or pen! Cut-out letters can be fun and so can brush lettering. We will provide handouts, paper and a felt marker to all and have fun in this 2-hour class! Drawing in Pen and Ink - Animals
In this class, students will become familiar with drawing in ink using technical pens and ink washes. Ashley Gaboury will guide you to create a variety of subjects including birds, and animals. Develop loose mark-making techniques and then discover the freedom to use them uninhibitedly. Learn to apply ink washes to your drawing to add value and pencil colors and/or markers for touches of color.
Paint the Clothed Figure From Life | With a live model!
Experience the “joy” of putting brush marks on canvas... without labouring over drawing and measuring. We will touch on all the ‘simple ideas’ that Bobbi emphasizes in her teaching: “logical ideas” .. the nuts and bolts necessary to build a strong, beautiful painting; and ideas that will help take the mystery out of painting and add the magic you are seeking. Learn how to tell a story in distinctive brushwork and brave paint application, as we focus on putting our lovely model into her ‘space’ on our canvases.
Soapstone Carving 2024 | With Vance Theoret
A fun and light approach to working with soapstone stone. You will carve your own piece of stone while Vance guides you through the process of shaping, carving and polishing, helping solve the challenges you encounter at each phase. Each student will come away from this workshop with a finished piece and with a better sense of how to see and execute in the 3D. No skills are required other than to be willing to have fun!
Land, Sea and Sky | Oil or Acrylic
The focus of this workshop is on landscape composition and colour. You will create oil or acrylic (your choice) paintings of prairies, foothills, and seascapes distinguished by a harmonious play of light and colour in a bold and realistic style. Jonn Einerssen works almost exclusively in oils and layering glazes to create a translucent and harmonious play of light and colour.
Printmaking Essentials - Relief & Mono | Adults & Teens!
During this workshop participants will create their own prints as Ashley Gaboury leads them through the basic steps of carving, inking, and registering prints. They will learn take-home techniques for both relief printmaking and creating monotypes.

This would be an even deeper dive. Parts 1 and 2 are for the most part completely different. Only the photography day would be similar. You may participate in the lesson again or if you choose you can stay behind and Doug will continue to instruct from the resort.
Whether you choose option 1, 2 or 3 you will learn more than your head can hold. this is Intensive learning but remember we are still on a holiday. Margaritas by the pool coronas by the ocean and the occasional stop at a taco stand will be a regular occurrence.
