(Swinton's Art Supplies) Levels: All levels welcome (Beginner to Advanced) Instructor: Stephen Purdy Mediums Welcome: Oil, Acrylic or Watercolour This workshop will take place in the studio. Most of us enjoy the natural landscape, and sometimes stand in awe of its beauty. Some of us have tried to paint a landscape with some or little success. I’d like to teach you what I’ve learned to help you make a landscape painting you can be proud of. This class is based on the process of painting outdoors, in which it is essential to develop a strong composition, designate the appropriate values, and make the colour sparkle with the life of the scene before your eyes. Outside, you have a limited time to capture the scene as the light will change. Inside the studio, this same efficiency will keep your painting fresh. This class is for everyone. Beginner, Intermediate or Expert. We can all learn from some constructive criticism. The class is structured with demonstrations of each stage of a painting, followed by individual critiques of each stage of the students’ progress. If you are a little uncertain of your ability, don’t be; this class might be a little intense, but that is because painting is really, really, REALLY fun!!!
