Bring your own image and discover how to transform it into a layered mixed-media artwork using gel plate printing and image transfer. In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to refine and prepare your image for transfer, then use a Gelli Plate to create multiple printed backgrounds using colour, shape, pattern, texture, and layers. Once your image is refined, the same image will be transferred onto the different printed backgrounds you create, allowing you to explore how colour, pattern, and texture can completely change the character of the image. Experiment with multiple combinations and discover how a single image can become part of an entirely new composition. No specialized equipment is needed. Gelli Plates in 6 × 6 and 5 × 7 sizes will be provided for use in class; transfer paper is included, and a laser printer will be available to print your prepared image.
