Working in oil or acrylic, you’ll create paintings inspired by prairies, foothills, and seascapes while learning how to build strong compositions and create a natural sense of depth and atmosphere. Jonn Einerssen’s paintings are known for their bold, realistic style and beautiful use of light and colour. His work is strongly influenced by the power and openness of the natural landscape. “Skies, the prairies, and the ocean all provide unlimited scope for communicating what I feel. In these subjects, the power of nature rules.” Jonn works primarily in oils, using layers and glazes to create luminous colour and light. Throughout the workshop, he’ll share his approach to composition, colour mixing, layering, and capturing the mood of a landscape.
