In this fun 2-day workshop, we’ll bring out those cherished treasures stored away in our buffets to create a beautiful still life! Remember all those wonderful teacups your grandmother lovingly served you tea in? And the lovely matching tea pots, sugar bowls and creamers that completed their beautifully set tables? We’re going to recreate those treasured memories in our beautiful still life paintings! It will be all about keeping things “SIMPLE” and is geared for the artist (new with some experience or advanced) who is looking to explore and have a fresh appreciation for the beauty of “paint” (want to loosen up?) - using the still life (a Tea Party!), from life, as our perfect vehicle. This exciting 2-Day exploration will give you an important understanding of “starting your painting simply”, beautiful mark-making, luscious paint quality, sculpting with your brush and painting light and creating form. We’ll stay true to those important “fundamentals” (shape, value, edges & colour) as you learn to have the confidence in yourself to “pull it all together” and portray your subject beautifully and sensitively. This workshop is about “Simple Ideas”, beginning with painting studies, and bringing this to a larger painting. (The emphasis of this workshop is on a strong start to your painting, not about finishing a painting). **Note: See the supply list for objects to complete your own “Tea Party” painting. This workshop is sure to transform your approach to your own work.
