Portrait Watercolour Painting Workshop Sunday, January 18, 2025 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Level: Beginner-Advanced. Instructor: Emma Rach-Syslak Location: 7160 Fisher St SE, Calgary, AB. (Swinton's Art Supplies) Whether you’re brand-new to watercolour and curious to explore its luminous qualities, this vibrant, hands-on experience opens the door to the expressive world of watercolour portraiture. All skill levels are welcome. This workshop will guide you through essential techniques—such as colour mixing, brush control, layering, and achieving lifelike skin tones—so you can bring your subjects to life with confidence. So whether you’re a novice eager to explore the magic of watercolour or a seasoned artist looking to try something new or refine your portrait skills in this medium, this workshop can offer you the tools to create beautiful watercolour portraits. You will receive a pre-drawn portrait on watercolour paper. Included in the workshop price! Supply list for students: o Watercolour and/or gouache paint: Black, yellow ochre, Venetian or any Earth Red o Palette o Watercolour brushes: 3 rounds: 10, 6, 2/0, or any you already have. o 11x14” MDF or wood board /similar to tape your paper on. o Masking tape What will be provided: - Pre-drawn portrait on watercolour paper
