Date & Time Saturday, August 22, 2026 10:00-4:00 pm Location: 7160 Fisher St SE, Calgary (Swinton's Art Supplies) Medium: Acrylic/Mixed media Instructor: Evelyn Caro This hands-on workshop explores image transfer techniques using acrylic mediums and gels, giving artists the opportunity to incorporate photographs, text, and printed imagery into layered, mixed media work. Through guided demonstrations and hands-on practice, participants will learn how to successfully transfer images onto a variety of prepared surfaces, including smooth grounds, textured finishes, and collaged backgrounds. Each surface offers a different result, from clean, subtle transfers to more distressed, integrated effects. Pre-prepared panels are provided so you can focus on the process while experimenting across surface types without The pressure of starting from scratch. Throughout the session, you’ll build a series of sample studies and leave with a strong, practical understanding of image transfer techniques that can be carried into your own work. The workshop wraps up with a short demonstration of additional approaches, including texture gels, dry media, and acrylic washes, showing how transferred imagery can be pushed further and developed into more finished pieces.
